State Reporting Systems Business Analyst

The State Reporting Systems Business Analyst is responsible for compliance with state regulated reporting to Workers’ Compensation Boards.  The Analyst will gather requirements, perform technical analysis, developing product/project documentation, provide customer support by troubleshooting issues and translating them into software requirements for workers’ compensation/bill review.

Duties / Responsibilities

  • Monitor all activities related to state reporting and EDI for the Workers’ Compensation industry
  • Participate in the design and enhancement of software products and business processes
  • Prepare Business Requirements Functional Specifications/Documentation to be shared with stakeholders, development and technical teams
  • Research, review, and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing software features and develop strategies for enhancing or further leveraging the features
  • Prepare recommendations or alternatives for improving software features
  • Own tasks and software projects through full system development life cycle
  • Prepare UAT test cases and coordinate UAT with business stakeholders

Requirements

  • Experience and knowledge of EDI and Workers’ Compensation State Reporting requirements
  • Experience and knowledge of EDI ANSI X12 (specific to chapters relevant to Billing/Medical/Insurance industry)
  • Experience with SQL query creation
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Skill in analytical and problem-solving techniques
  • Ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders, customers and vendors
  • Ability to understand how report results effect business decisions
  • Ability to continuously provide a high level of quality while working independently and at high-paced velocity
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail
